MK2 FL Gear knob change.

Featured Replies

So after buying my 2008 focus i just didn't like the gear knob, I much preferred the one previous in the earlier MK2, so I bought one that knob.

After reading online I couldn't find a good answer on how to change it so I just decided to poke at some trim with a screwdriver and found out it's really simple to do.

If you get a flat blade screw driver and push it in bottom left of the silver stick surround it will lift up and move around the surround, turn thr knob anti clockwise and it will just unscrew, might be a little tough to do! As for the leather gaiter turn it inside out and push the knob upwards through the gaiter, screw back on and clip the surround and it's done.

The previous gearknob was a good one to be fair! Miss my Mk2.
