Tappty Ford escort engine

Featured Replies

Hi,

iv got a 97 Ford escort calypso cabriolet, I don't use it very much and notice it's pretty tapperty to start with and gets better the more I drive it, is this normal, it's a zetec engine.  Iv just used it today and it sounded very tapperty to start with ( I had not used it for 2 Weeks prior to day) but after a few miles and the engine warmed up it sounds fine.  Is this pretty normal thing for these old escorts. I do notice the more I use it I don't get this issue so much.

many thanks

matt
