Umbongo
Hi. I've recently got a fusion 3 and so far I like it. Problem I have is nothing happens when I press the washer button. I've not seen a seperate fuse for the washer so I assume it's on the same fuse as one of the wipers?? Both wiper fuses look ok. I Swapped the wiper stalk as it was cheap n easy but still no good. Next is the wiper motor but shouldn't the wipers activate when I press the wash button even if the motor had gone?
iantt
so is it just the washers that dont work or wipers also?
Umbongo
The wipers work fine. when I press the wash button nothing happens. no washer motor noise and wipers don't activate.
iantt
what about the rear wash/wipe ? does the rear wiper work when trying to wash rear?
Umbongo
Rear wiper works fine. the wash works too and wipers are already going when you pull back for the wash. Just the front?
iantt
thats strange. i would have said switch but you have already done that. the wiring to washer will be ok as the rear works. the front wipers are triggered when the gem module detects the earth path from switch. washers should work regardless of that. Umbongo
is there a switch in the motor, front/rear and that's packed up or is the second hand stalk i got faulty in excactly the same way?
iantt
no, all the switching ocours in the wiper stalk. the 12v and earth swaps and makes washer motor operate in reverse
Umbongo
Think it's worth trying another stalk then? I did replace with a used part so maybe that was duff too..
