Fusion Throttle Electrics

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've got a problem with my 2004 1.4 Diesel Fusion, where very wet conditions cause it to display the EAC Fail error & restrict me to around 2K revs. If I stop & wait 20 minutes or so, depending on the weather, it's fine again.

I've done some searching and found something where someone had the same problem with a Fiesta and found a connector that they said was low down at the back of the engine. I assume this connects to the throttle pedal, then goes off somewhere else. They tied a plastic bag around it as a temporary fix.

Could anyone give me a better idea of where I'd find this connector? I don't know if I should have the car up on ramps and come at it from below, or try to dismantle things from above.

I bought a Bluetooth adapter and software for my phone to read the codes, but it hasn't been wet enough recently to trigger this. I'm driving to Scotland in a couple of weeks and don't fancy limping the whole way there & back. I'm also not keen on paying a garage to replace every part related to the throttle.
