Mondeo drain current

Featured Replies

Investigating Mondeo mk4 if there is current leak somewhere or if battery itself is slowly discharging (and also charging IMO very slowly, for example drove today 250km highway and SoC 94% - - > 96% = +2Ah in 0 celsius). Got clamp meter today and results after 4 hours resting:

Battery neg cable 20-50 mA, cable bunch to engine junction box 10-2 mA... and big cable from alternator to battery giving 200-300 mA near alternator and 400-700 mA near engine block. Calibrated, reset and measured several times and always the same. How can that be? Shouldn't battery neg cable give total amount of current used at the moment and therefore more than alternator cable is giving? And should I suspect fault in alternator or charging cable?
