hi, new to the site so forgive me if this is in the wrong section. i have just purchased a 2008 (preface) 1.8 ford focus climate. it has the stereo headunit fitted. it has a voice button on stalk by steering wheel and what looks like a speaker grill by interior light. does this mean it has bluetooh? as i cant get my phone to connect to it. it deosnt find 'ford audio' on my phone and cant seem to find a bluetooth option on stereo to see if its turned off

cheers in advance

Is there not a phone button on the stereo?

Because the voice button and grill on the interior light (mic) usual indicate bluetooth (phone only) voice control.

Have a look if there is a microphone inside that speaker grill by interior light.

They all have phone buttons...it just mutes the stereo though...

I've got voice control but don't think you can use it with a phone over bluetooth?  At least I've never worked out how anyway.  I can control the radio by voice though...which is usually more hassle than just pressing the desired buttons!

All depends on wether it was a option that was selected when the car was new mine has the buttons (green phone red phone) but yeah they just mute the radio! if you really want bluetooth it can be fitted with a module for around £350 + vat

sorry for late reply. still cant get it to work. i have taken the glovebox out and had a look, it does have the nokia bluetooth module. it does have the speaker in the interior light, it does have the voice button, but nothing works. i did dissconnect the plug to the nokia module behind glovebox, and plugged it back in, but no change. am i missing something or could it have all that fitted, and still not be an 'active' feature?

Quote:-              Less Cell Phone Interface System

I think this is the problem, I maybe wrong. My 2006 Focus did not have bluetooth on the standard radio system so I fitted a JVC with bluetooth.

I wouldn't believe everything on etis. Unless I'm being stupid, my car says less bluetooth even though it has SYNC from factory.

I have a 2008 focus zetec, the voice command button for the radio is on your radio stalk marked voice, you simply follow voice commands to connect your phone, all the info should be in your handbook for the radio, I still have to remove all the old phones including my old phone from the radio lol, but I found it handy to make a call hands free by voice command. I hope this helps you out. Colin

So what make of stereo is it, is a Ford/Sony unit?          because in your last post you mention " just find it strange to have the nokia kit fitted behind stereo"

Press the voice button then say ‘help’ (a voice will explain your help options) say ‘phone’ then after the voice confirms ‘phone’ say ‘help’ and your options will be explained.

To use this button to call out you must add names/numbers into the system (20 in total if I remember right). Once you have done this, anytime your phone is connected to the car, press the voice button, say ‘phone’ , say ‘dial name’ ..... say the name of the person you wish to call, you will be asked to confirm this, then the system will call the number you asked!
