Phone Apps and stay with standard or not.

Featured Replies

Is there a lot on here with Android phones that have changed there Phones with customized apps like Nova Launcher or Textra SMS as i did on a old

phone and made it so much better in options like colors or the menu screen/setting and text changes, the 2 i mentions i think are good apps.

Or does a lot out there just stick to the stock version that it comes with.

I didn't know you could change them, but prefer the standard look anyway :)

I used to use Cyanogenmod on older phones.

After having issues with Barclays mobile banking on rooted phones (even with "Hidden Root"), I have to stick with Stock Android or risk being unable to do my banking...

Mate Nova Launcher is great and the stuff you can do is top class,go onto Google play and all there and Textra.

Thanks, i'll have a nosy :)

I use nova too, it’s pretty good lots of changes you can make. I also use Beautiful widgets, Tesla Unread, SwiftKey, Dolphin, DockClock and Calengoo. All my icons come from Zedge as do most of my notification tones.
@Micro all the apps above don’t need a rooted device, I had the same problem as you, my Bank and credit card app got suspicious of the phone and stopped working

I quite like the native Android appearance, the Nexus 5X being a Google device doesn't have any of the "glitter" that Samsung and other name brand devices have. I did like the performance increases of Cyanogenmod and other mods in the past, and the ability to really dig down and change how the device worked (allowing the phone to charge at full rate on a third-party charger for instance, increasing the volume limit, etc).

I have done the same on my old Moto 5 all the above and Textra and Nova launcher are my main 2 but i will try the stock samsung things first being the S7.

And yes Zedge for wallpaper and tones.

Rather than fill this forum with Android questions i will ask on this one i started...stops the clutter.........its help on s7/Nougat.

1.....how to add favorite to phone contacts,no star and i press name, drop down is phone/message/details and hit details and contact opens but no star by the name.

2.....enounced messages,is this same as iMessage  on iPhone but both have to have it turned on,goes through internet connection instead of you service provider.

also how do you turn it off and is it worth turning it off (no enounced off/on in message setting) just through chat setting and advanced calling/messaging.
