Thudding noise

Featured Replies

Hi this is my first post.

i have a x-reg focus which is in fairly good nick considering the age, but I have recently started to hear a thudding noise come from the rear, it doesn’t seem to do it on smooth roads. It almost sounds

it something is moving around in the boot ( the boot is empty)

i really  don’t think it’s a wheel bearing as it’s not constant.

any ideas what it could be will be appreciated

Check your exhaust mounts are ok, if ones broken the exhaust could be moving and hitting the chassis/underbody. Just had to replace my manifold/cat due to the brackets being broken making a loud thud on acceleration ☹️
