Ford Focus 2.0 2008 TDCI Electric Problems

Please Help!

Got A 2008 TDCI 2.0 Focus with a Auto box which has a wiring / electrical problems.

When the car is switch on before cranking there is a relay clicking from two relays in the under bonnet fuse box. The clicking is rapid for may be 10 seconds then it may click after that time once or twice every 10 secounds or so. If you crank the car when the clicking slows down the car will start and run for ten seconds or so then cut out.

I have looked at the following removed the dash and moved the plug around and flexed the speedo no change to the clicking and all gauges are working when it runs. I have cleaned the all earths and battery termails and given all the loom a wiggle test still no change to the clicking . Also changed to two relays to working one and they work fine in a second vehicle.

If I bridge the two relays I can still hear a faint clicking from the engine ECU.

I think it may be a can bus system fault but unsure how to test loom or system to confirm. All other electrics on the car are fine lights wipers windows radio etc.

Any ideas would be great appreciated as this car has on 40K on the clock and is to good to scrap
