What unit did you buy, sorry to hijack but interested in doing this for me wife

I haven’t brought the unit yet but essentially it is the same gloss black ford sound unit but it supports navigation and comes with a slightly bigger screen.

You could go for the Sony Nav if the car is a titanium trim or above.

The only thing you have to consider is if you have a dab unit now you should by a dab sat nav unit, there is no need to remove the headlining.

Simply pop off the screen shroud using a plastic card etc, the unit is held in with torx screws as is the screen, when you buy the new unit you will need the screen shroud that fits that screen as it bigger, the Nav ariel is mounted on the screen bracket so should come with it, the gloss black surround comes off very easily as I recall you have to pop off the passenger air bag warning light to access the torx screws.

You will need to change files in the cars system to show a 5" screen instead of 4" and enable the Nav system I did this when I bought the car and it cost me £250 for the system and took about an hour.

i have fitted sony sat nav to mine. just bought gps antenna with fakra connection. worked straight off and dab radio worked. only thing wrong is no sound off the nav part. ie,  turn left or right but you can see as it shows when to turn. i did not get the plastic mount which moves the screen forward but all i did was remove a bit of the underside of top cover so i can place sd card into screen. i have put heated seats in, done auto lock , fitted cruise control, just after a remap now....
