HELP! Mk2 Ford Focus revs dropping and cutting out driving

Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can point me in right direction! 

Ive Ford Focus 1.6 MK2 petrol, 2007 Zetec. 

When I drive the car if I dip the clutch the revs drop to 400/500rpm and it cuts out. If I sit and rev car whilst idling and then stop the revs again will drop to 400/500 and then gradually pick up to the correct idle level.

ive seen the MK2 doesn’t have an idle control valve to clean which seemed to solve the same issue on the MK1 Focus so ive no idea what to do to solve the problem?! 

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
