Hi Everyone, first post:

When Ford first introduced speed limiters they only worked up to 70mph - just checking this isn't the case any more? (I'm thinking of buying a Focus Mk 3 and have searched these forums but can find no mention of it.)

All replies welcome.

I only use speed limiters on motorways and I know the speed limit is 70 but...

Do you mean cruise control?

If so, there is no upper limit on modern Fords.

There is still a lower limit of no lower than 20 mph (on my Fiesta anyway).

My 2012 Mondeo has a speed limiter and cruise control max of about 115*

I've had 2 mk3 focus's and both titanium x and the speed limiter worked at speeds well above 70mph. I experimented with mine at 80 90 100 and it worked just fine.

Many thanks all.

I thought at the time the 70mph upper limit was a terrible idea and I'm glad they weren't too pig headed to drop it - no doubt some time ago so apologies for my ignorance (I searched these forums thoroughly and tried several Google searches but couldn't find any info).
