MK4 key fob issues

Featured Replies

Had a low key fob battery warning on dash so changed battery and everything is fine for 2 days then nothing works so have to use key and insert fob into ignition.

changed battery several times and same thing each time!

Please help as I'm at my wits end

cheers guys

What brand are the batteries that you are using? I've read that some brands don't work too well in the fobs. I use Duracell without any problems.

Hi yeah I used Duracell initially however I then changed to Panasonic with no improvement.. New batteries test at 3.1-3.2V however my fob stops working when the battery reaches 2.9-3.0V which would be normal I guess. When I say normal I mean the power in the battery..

Its a strange one 🤔

Coincidentally, last Saturday, my car started reporting back that my key fob battery is low too. I've not got a replacement yet but I've just tested the battery at 3.4V  ???  Think my multi-meter is out.
