Focus mk2 temperature sensor?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I got into the car this morning to find I had no temperature on my dash screen, also the red frost icon is also staying put.

I've tried locating where the temperature sensor is but can't seem to find it anywhere lol?

I have a focus mk2, titanium 2008.

Many thanks, Josh.

with all three issues i would say you got problems with the bcm(fusebox under glove box) but would have said sensor if thats all that went wrong.

Thanks for the reply, I don't suppose you would know where the sensor would be located ? Sorry

should be behind the front bumber high up, access is from above, remove the black plastiic trim under bonnet and air filter ducting under neath, then you should see it.

Hi again, so since I had the temperature sensor go on my car, the fans turn on after a 20 minute or so drive, my back wiper stopped working and so did both of the screen wash for front and back the only thing working was my front wipers.

I got into the car on my way back from work and low and behold I suddenly have temperature again and the red frost icon has gone as if nothing was wrong in the first place.
I'm so confused as to what is happening to my car because I thought if something has gone then its gone and needs to be fixed lol ?

There is obviously an issue and ive taken it to a local dealership where I got the car from as I have a years warranty, he noted the ' outdoor temperature sensor ', ' fan resister ? ' and the back wiper.

Its due to go in on Wendesday 7th but now if I roll the car in and find there is nothing there but when clearly its something ? Its confusing to not only me but them as well lol.

Sorry for the long message but this is my 3rd car the other 2 was f**** !

Hi mate, did you manage to get this sorted?

Have this on my focus for the last couple of days and not disappearing, exact same symptoms!!

Seen a vid online about re-seating the 2 plugs below the fusebox but that hasnt worked either. 😞

Hi all had this problem with mine 2008 mk2 focus and found the issue under passenger side glove box there are two quick connect connectors that go into the fuse box one was not fully connected and solved all the problems including (Bonnet open warning, no back windscreen wiper, no blower fan,no washer yet, no outside temperature reading. Probably along with many other issues. I recon the connector was kicked out by one of my passengers.

Same symptoms here too. No blower, no washers and three dashes on the outside temperature along the red snowflake.

Wiggled the two connectors under the fuse tray and problems are gone for now.

Probable corrosion of the connectors and pins of the BCM. Quite a common fault on your model.
