Just bought 2006 Fusion, disappointed when fitting the Sat Nave into cigarette socket that it does not switch off when the ignition is switched off. Any ideas please to overcome this.

Unplug the sat nav when you've finished using it?  That's what I do.

Its an accessory socket, not a cig lighter socket, and needs to be on at all times or it wouldn't be a lot of cop for powering accessories.

Fit a hidden spare power socket connected to an ignition live fuse.
