Knocking underneath at 30/40 mph

Featured Replies

More mondeo problems.

Recently bought a 57 plate mondeo and am working through a list of issues, the last one being a knocking sound under the car, I think it has something to do with exhaust pipe but mechanics at several garages seem to dismiss this.

Ok so the knock sounds like bad links and its over the left side,  its bad at 30/40 mph and it seems to disappear completely at 50 mph onwards, mechanic said its the struts but another said theres no sign of problems with struts, links or calipers and he can't see the problem, I don't wana replace parts if its not guna fix it.

Just a side note, the car struggles at low revs for instance if I hit 4th gear at 30 mph the car would judder a little and the exhaust pipe bangs against the car, I think this is a similar noise to the knocking.

Could it just simply be the pipe banging against the car ?

Does anyone have any experience with this or ideas ?

Sounds like the exhaust to me, the back box is often the culprit check the mounts
