no power while ignition switch is in position 0 or 1

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a Ford Transit 2.2 litre diesel of 2008.
I changed the battery last week and since then the interior lights cannot be swithed on anymore while ignition switch is in position 0 or 1. With the ignition switch in position 2 everything functions normal, and also with the motor running nothing is unusual. The radio also only functions with the ignition switch in position 2. When the ignition switch is put to position 1 or 0 the radio is directly switched off and all pre-settings are lost.
What could be the cause of this?

how many batteries does your transit have?

My transit has one 12V start battery. Since it is a camper it has also another battery, but that is a separate circuit.

Yesterday I checked relevant fuses and they are all ok. Might it be the ignition switch?

I replaced the starter battery with: BOSCH 0 092 S50 100 - Battery

I found the solution. The fuse in the wire to the second battery was blown. There are two fuses in that connection, one in the starters battery box (which was ok) and one close to the second battery in the rear of my camper. This one I could not find at first. When changing the starters battery I must have hit the contact point of that wire. Thanks for the reactions.
