Hi will 205/55/16 tyres and wheels fit an smax ?

Simple answer yes it's listed as an option, depending on your model you may have calipers clearance problems, steel wheels normally clear some alloys won't, most of fords own will be ok

there tyres are thinner so wouldnt that effect grip ?

They are 16” steel wheels with 205/55/16 tyres that are new.

They will fit and the grip will not be adversely effected in fact may be higher, I ran mine on 16" with winter tyres as these are what I had from my Mondeo these where mk3 alloys
