I just wanted to show that it is possible to get the parts from the zetec s bodykit for cheap on a zetec or style. Just takes a lot of waiting and searching ebay. I bought the diffuser and side parts for £70 off ebay and painted the side bits and fitted them myself. The spoiler was also bought of ebay second hand and painted for around £200. Not bad considering the crazy prices ford wanted.1 point

if it does turn out to be a sump gasket... these are easy n cheap enough to fix.... just remember you need ya oil n filter, gasket n sealant..... maybe clean the oil pick up also....1 point

I wonder what a hybrid turbo would do to the 1.0, before potentially blowing it up :P1 point

Hey If your blood was dripping from your arm would you get it fixed,, Oil leaks are the same, Oil is the blood of an engine !!! Jamie1 point

It is not that complex. At the moment I have allmost all of the needed parts to retrofit the Keyless Start and keyless Entry system to my Focus MK2. My only problem is that I do not have time at the moment to install the system. I have some other modifications which are more important at the moment.1 point

Too true, although with my latest car it hasnt got a DPF, I dont mind the extra tax as it will never amount to how much a DPF would cost me if it went BANG!!!1 point

tbh i dont think there is much you can do with a 1.4 n/a, except for a good service, maybe upgrade plugs for better spark, and use shell v power, for a higher octane burn...... ... if you went down the air filter route, buy a uprated filter the same as yours now.. ie k&n pipercoss and smooth out the air box, thus getting a better induction for the car.... a cat back exhaust wont give you any more ponies, just a louder note..... there is a map out there, but is approx 10bhp worth the cost of around 250 notes?1 point

Definitely better done professionally. Better quality film, no bubbles or creases and if they stuff it up it doesn't cost you more to replace the film.1 point

Hi Folks Whatever peoples opinions are, That needs rectifying. There should be no oil leaks on a modern car. None I own a 1974 mg midget (1275) and believe it or not that doesent leak a drop (yes there is oil in it) Jamie1 point

Some great replies guys thanks. I never thought about the tax disc or fuel receipts idea but I bet if u added them all up it would be a shock to all lol! Yeah I think a record of work and receipts of parts etc is good to show as proof of whats been done and if you sell on then it might give the news buyers confidence that the cars been well liked after. Keep up the good work guys.1 point

I agree. My focus petrol has always run fine. My Merc diesel before the focus ran rough. Diesel is obviously more sensitive. Sent from my C5303 using Ford OC mobile app1 point

Usually from oil leaked out from the drain plug whilst changing the oil it self that stuff doesn't just wash it stays there Sent from my GT-I9300 using Ford OC mobile app1 point

Far easier to use fuse taps. Both feeds from the double slot are independently fused so no danger of overloads or shorts. I have added two extra 12v sockets in my car (due to replacing my centre console with a facelift version which had 2 socket spaces available) which are parallel wired with in-line fuses in each circuit without any problems at all.1 point

I had a similar issue and had to get something welded on to remove it. As such I no longer use locking nuts.1 point

I've got every receipt for everything I have bought/had done to the car since I bought it (2 years ago). When I say everything, I mean everything, bulbs, coolant, filters, speakers, paint, belts, tyres and the thing that the break down man gives you to sign. Even got every receipt for every tank of fuel I have put in - all from the same place. Sad I know. Also got a spreadsheet going of how much I've spent and the date I bought each item :) Got every tax disc from when it was new in a frame - very sad. Keeps me happy though :P1 point

If you dont want to buy an iphone for the remainder of your contract, I can highly recommend the MySaga C2 - its an android phone that is £75 or so, and is on par with the samsung galaxy S3, its an excellent phone and I have absolutely no regrets having bought it, its the best quality phone I have seen for such a low price, its reliable and brilliant!1 point

Breaking in is a myth, Ford will have that Engine running about 1 rev off the limiter for well over an hour before it leaves the factory anyway, not like it matters either, it's got warranty and in the first year NOTHING is excluded from it except, tyres, brake discs and pads.1 point

Don't bother breaking it in, just make sure it is warm then boot it! I still find the boost so addictive lol1 point

Very nice, I like the blue ST badge to match the spirit blue. And I know the feeling, had mine just over a month and it still makes me smile every time I walk up to it :)1 point

I like it but I'd go as far as to say that you should spray the whole lower spoiler Red & not just a pinstripe1 point

Well done. Shame that James Simpson trawls the internet and makes ideas his own (he even has the cheek to copyright Ford fitting instruction sheets :d)1 point
