  2. Thanks all for the messages (even the sarcasm from Wes! ), just home now after spending 6 hours in hospital... Extended throughout the afternoon due to them thinking I might have damaged my kidneys somehow. Thankfully a CT scan proved negative and although they wanted to keep me in overnight for observation, that wasn't happening!! What I need is a cup of tea and my own bed.

  3. Section 47 of the Road Traffic Act (1988) applies. It is not illegal to have a vehicle without a current MoT parked on a public highway however it is illegal to drive it unless going directly to a pre-booked MoT. Sent from my SM-G930F

  5. I'm now starting the 10th week of my diet and Tuesday is my weekly measurement and stats day. Last week, I've lost another 0.5% of body fat and gained 0.2% muscle mass, my girth is 12mm less again, I seem to have settled into losing 12mm a week at the moment. This is third week it's been 12mm! If he goes to a toddler group, you could work out some complicated mathematical formulae that contained "Plus" and the answer was in fact "8" and use it to confound all the other parents and staff, with your "maths genius son"

  12. I'd say it was a week's notice, as the three months probationary period isn't up. The month's notice comes into force, only after the three months of probationary has ended, which it clearly hasn't after nine weeks

  15. Hello everyone. I recently bought a new 2016 Fiesta SE 1.0 Ecoboost. The US based Fiesta forums seem to be a little slow-moving so I decided to register here since it seems Fiestas are very popular in the UK. Hoping to learn lots from you guys. My car probably looks funny to you because they aren't available as saloons in the UK. I actually tried to find a hatch but nobody had them. The saloon looks good to me and is actually a good 12 inches longer than the hatch. Doesn't seem too tiny.

  16. Does anyone know what information if any, the emergency assist feature stores in the event of an accident/crash? A car recently drove into the back of our focus and the insurance are asking for the information from the device. i have contacted ford via telephone and also been into my local dealer, who also don't seem to know? any help would be greatly appreciated 👍

  18. I gave up doing 1/8 buggy and truggy stuff. Moved onto 1/5 scale for a while. Started off with a Baja SS kit and also a losi 5T. I absolutely loved my Losi stuff, had spares for absolutely everything and barely ever needed any, bearings were the most common failures. The losi 8ight buggy and truggy took some beatings every weekend too! Ive had various other bits n pieces and electric stuff in between. Got kinda bored of them and moved onto helicopters. Still have a few of those, biggest one is a blade 450x. when I was younger, my dad used to scratch build all sorts of model boats, machine parts etc. I won the Scottish steering and docking championship back in 2005 lol.

  20. The relays are indeed part of the GEM and not easily replaceable. Not returning to park is usually a motor issue though in my experience. You seem to be missing the front fog light light from the dash, that's a green one. Unless your model didn't come with fronts?

  30. Having texted a link to this thread to my colleague this morning who deals with our HR, she too, say it's a week. So far, the Vauxhall manager is all alone, like a lost sock in the wash, in their interpretation of the contract as a months notice: everyone else says it's a week. I thought that was the case, but some councils do have co-mingling bin policy that others don't with some waste. It gets sorted and separated by their processor later.. Worcestershire may be one that co-mingles WEEE with general waste, at the point of collection Poole Borough Council accepts laminated Tetra cartons and laminated paper in the recycling bin, they seem to be alone on that. All the other neighbouring councils state it's a general non-recyclable waste. This year, they also started accepting PS food cartons and trays, included the blended ones! A minority of councils accept PS but hardly anyone wants the blends, as they're hard to process That is most unfortunate.

  32. It will eventually. Oddly enough the SE trim level normally comes standard with alloys, unless you get the Ecoboost engine, then you get steelies. Idea wise it is a bit shocking as a 1.0 is a pretty tiny engine, but power output wise it's comparable (and torquier) than the average 120hp 4-cyl cars everyone drives. Not everyone here has a V8. :) My previous car however was a hulking Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 that got 10mpg though so this is a bit of a jump for me, but I don't really find it underpowered at all. Thank you. Here's a back shot for the curious.

  34. What were the codes? For some sensors, there are two sorts of code, Range/Performance vs. High/Low circuit. High/Low circuit codes are more likely to be hard wiring or sensor failure (out of range) faults. Range/performance faults can be a minor fault (drift etc) in the sensor, poor (but still working) connections, or a fault somewhere else altogether that make the ECU think the sensor might be faulty. Also there are likely to be two IAT sensors. One before the turbo, that may be part of the MAF, and one after the turbo, near the inlet manifold. If the disconnected duct is upstream of the air filter, then I can not see it having any effect. The MAF will be downstream of the air filter. If the MAF was disconnected when the ignition was on at any time, then a MAF DTC, (and an IAT DTC if the IAT is part of the MAF), are likely to have been stored. I had that just the other day when I disconnected my 2nd IAT & just cycled the ignition on to run a test. Dodgy earths, or even dodgy batteries, can cause a wide range of errors. But this all looks a bit too specific & consistent to me, for that. If you have changed the injector loom, and the fault is becoming rather permanent, then I think suspicion must switch back to Injector no.3 itself, unfortunately.

  35. It can also send info about whether airbags and the fuel shut off has been triggered, to give the emergency services an idea of the severity. I don't think it stores this any longer than needed to make the call though.

  36. I have three kids; two girls and a boy Ive spent €510 each on Santa presents this Christmas total €1530 I'm happy with doing it as there's only a few years of Santa and they don't get any toys mid year except for there birthdays. They look after there toys and I encourage them to donate some of there old toys to the local charity shop every November after they send there letters to Santa we go through the toys together and they help deliver to charity shop with me. This makes space for the new stuff and i tell them Santa will bring an extra gift to reward you for helping others whom may not be as fortunate as they are themselves. this year I know it was toubh for them but they polished up and donated there bicycles in November as they had outgrown the size of them. They already have Razor e200 electric scooters which are now going strong for two years with great range on the battery. They asked Santa for few things off Santa; dolls buggy and an ice cream truck which I got them first then spent the rest of there individual budgets as wisely as possible on each of there personal tastes, Went to Halfords and got them a bicycle each saved over €100 using fordowners discount card which went back in to there budgets Went to Argos got two amazon fire HD tablets for €200 as I purchased them in two separate orders while argos are giving back €10 voucher for every €100 spent in store so saved €20 on the tablets which went back in to there funds aswell, getting them maximum bang for buck on everything possible. young lad then got a ride on tractor & trailor for €50 reduced from €80 few toy power tools and farm equipment. there completely unaware there getting bikes or tablets so it's gonna be great they just asked for doll & buggy other asked for ice cream truck and doll. there good kids my best friends and the reason I work hard, I rarely drink don't smoke or socialise outside of the home, we won't be going out anywhere over Christmas just spending time with them and there toys, so weighing it all up I'm probably not spending as much as I would if; i was doing Santa and socialising across Christmas and new years aswell.

  42. Would love to Fella however the exercise is bound to be full on effort. Nieces husband is a Major at Hamworthy and conferred with me when planning the whole thing. He felt putting me and the dogs through our paces would be a nice work out plus being ex armed response gives me a chance to have a cheeky cabby with some of their more 'exotic' weapons. They've exercised with the MoD police dog handlers before but don't seem too impressed with them and like the idea of utilising dogs that do the full range of taskings on a daily basis rather than once in a blue moon. 49. Till Clive pops up, I'll try n answer this On the headlights its a complete no no cause it isn't worth risking getting pulled by the black rats. As if they don't like it and you can't remove it at the roadside (if it's sprayed on for example) then your car will me taken off the road till it's ok'd by vosa If you want black headlights, you'll want new head light units that have black inners instead, or other coloured inners for that matter. You could always give opening your current light units a go by sticking em in the oven on a low temperature for a few minutes to break down the adhesive, prize em open n spray the inners before resealing em. Sounds mad but a fair few members have done this themselves. just be careful not to bake em too much or they'll just melt. This could obviously be quite risky though n you may suffer from condensation inside the light units if not re-sealed well enough after. A silica bag could solve this though. Another option is fly eye film or spi vision, its a perforated vinyl that you stick to the exterior of the light units. From a distance the head lights will look tinted and will allow light to shine through. but up close it just looks like you've wrapped a pair of tights round em. It is also available in different colours if you was to want red so this may be an option for you. But the problems with fly eye is that its nowhere near as easy to apply as they make out, it can crease like mad n if you heat it up too much it will melt. it is horrible sticky stuff to work with. Also, it does cut out a fair bit of light output, a lot more than they say it does. I used to have fly eye fitted to my headlights n tail lights, I use osram cool blue intense bulbs, which normally are very bright n light up unlit country roads beautifully, but with fly eye fitted the light beam from the osrams was quite dull, almost as bad as standard yellow bulbs. For this reason, solid tint films are a definite no no as you'll almost definitely get pulled n be told to remove it, even if sellers on ebay do claim its road legal cause it'll cut out even more light than fly eye. The fly eye though you can get away with on the headlights. With the tail lights you can get away with a bit more, but if getting the lights tinted i'd recommend getting them done professionally cause if you spray em yourself you may end up going to dark. Or you could use fly eye also, but I recently removed the fly eye from my tail lights cause it doesn't weather as well as they make out, and there was a few patches where it had broke off so it didn't look very good n i ended up removing it completely. This brings me onto it being horrible sticky stuff to remove, as it isn't reusable as they claim, so instead of pealing it back off in one neat sheet, it'll tear off in many tiny bits. One very good thing I can say about it though, is my motor sailed through it's MOT beautifully with not one advisory. Even though the bloke who did my MOT said how much he didn't like it, he couldn't not pass it as enough light shined through. So because of this, fly eye may be a decent cheap option for you at least temporary anyway n if you take your time you can get a good result with it. I have now since purchased some projector headlights with black inners, they look so much better and are very bright. I've also got my eyes on some LED aftermarket black tail light units. I've still got fly eye fitted to my reverse lights n at some point i'll fly eye my front fog lights as i never use em anyway n they'll make the front end look more stealthy looking black. This is what my motor looked like with the factory chrome units fitted This is them with fly eye fitted This is the light emitted with fly eye fitted Reversed lights fly eyed Light emitted with fly eye fitted These are my new black projector headlights This is the light emitted from the new lights You can see the difference in brightness between the 2 lots of light beams Oh and the new units also have built in DRL's in the form of halo's :P Really long post for you but hopefully you'll find it informative
