I'm in a new to me truck today. A 63 plate DAF and what a ruddy excellent option it's got. Four sensors down the nearside and when I indicate left a loud voice states Warning. Vehicle Turning Left. I think all trucks should have that option. I've seen many a startled pedestrian in my mirrors. I like it.3 points

Shh!!! No - seriously - my glasses were broken in the crash, and I only had one pair of non-tinted lenses.2 points

I do like having the offer of attending an open day tomorrow to discuss a potential new job... Couldn't really come at a worse time after the accident, but if I can get dressed and put up a "everything is OK" front for a few hours, I could secure myself a new job which could earn me more money and get me out of the current job which I hate. I also like ordering two new pairs of glasses online for less than I would pay for one at a high street opticians.2 points

Nobody is ever completely happy these days! That is the right of the great British public, to complain. Nothing said at the beginning of this thread sounds that bad to me. Have a look at the Discovery Sport Forum if you want to see expert complaining. Jim2 points

Ha, yes that would be good! It isn't even worth going through insurance to be honest, I'll see if a local scrap yard can collect it and perhaps give me £50 or something, like they did with the Fiesta (not the old Ghia, but the newer silver model that I planned on fixing up but never did). I could probably get £300 from the insurance, but then would have to pay £500+ more next year for having a claim, just not worth it.2 points

What's happening to the car now? I hope they're recovering it and leaving it outside your neighbours for the insurance assessor....2 points

If you connect the yellow and red cable from the headunit into the the larger connector as in the diagram in the top right of your third picture it will work I dependant if the ignition switch but, you will have to remember to turn the headunit off or you will have a flat battery.2 points

I might as well start an introduction and brief history of the cars I've owned. Over the short period I've been driving I've owned may Ford's. Most have been Fiesta's with the odd Vauxhall thrown in. In 2010 i owned my favourite car, a Profomance Blue Focus ST3. Anyone that's ever owned a 5 pot Volvo powered Ford will know they make an awesome noise. After saying goodbye to the fuel hungry Focus I went back to the Fiesta and the new 1.0 Ecoboost 125ps version. In fact I had 2 in 4 years. You all know what I did to the little fiesta mods wise and had loads of fun doing it. I planned on keeping my Titanium X for a while but as usual Ford release something I like and I get distracted. This new distraction was the sudden announcement of a 5 door Fiesta ST in the UK. To me this was the one car I always wanted as a 5 door option and I'd been waiting 10 years for it to happen. With this news I rushed down to my nearest dealer with a wad full of cash. Fast forward 8 weeks and the new ST is nearly here and only 2 weeks to go. On order is one of the first firsta 5 door ST3's in the UK. I went for Spirit Blue out of the 5 colour options available. I've already started collecting part, some from my Titanium and some from Facebook / Internet. While I'm waiting for the car to arrive I might as well list the things I have planned for when it arrives. So here goes.... First thing strangely will be the wheel center caps. Ford decided that this year everyone will get black center caps. I'm getting spirit blue so want blue. https://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_alloy_wheel_centre_caps_set_of_4_2008-2012_f_KIT1429118_c_478.htm Next on the list is mist / fan washer jets. I personally love them so decided to get some new ones. there only £4 so why not. Mist Jets http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_non_heated_windscreen_washer_jet_f_1708796_c_923.htm I have an ST space saver wheel but not the correct retaining bolt or foam padding so there also to be added to the ST. it will come with the inflator but don't plan on using that. Wheel Parts http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_spare_wheel_fixing_screw_130mm_f_1766944.htm http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_space_saver_spare_wheel_spacer_from_2012_onwards__f_1778266.htm Bulbs are next. Osram NightBreaker lazer H7s and Nightbreaker H1s all ready to be fitted. H1s http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/osram-night-breaker-unlimited-h1 H7s http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/osram-night-breaker-laser-h7-twin 5 door sill plates from EBay next. personally think these should have been provided considering its an ST 3. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/291861292898?_mwBanner=1 I still kept my Mountune airbox from the Titanium and will be sticking it in the ST too. to compliment that I've purchased a Mountune induction hose from our friends on Facebook. Also purchased were 2 hose clips. Airbox. https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mk7-fiesta-st/products/fiesta-b299st-mtune-215-power-upgrade-kit Hose https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mk7-fiesta-st/products/fiesta-b299st-high-flow-induction-hose?variant=780300821 Hose Clips http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/140763609769?_mwBanner=1 Obviously a map is planned and the MP215 kit is gunna be my choice. because of my many purchases from mountune I've been offered a very reduced rate. https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mk7-fiesta-st/products/fiesta-b299st-mtune-215-power-upgrade-kit Possible gunna add the Mountune Gator again. https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mk7-fiesta-st/products/fiesta-b299st-leather-gaiter Last on the initial list is a foot rest. I've seen loads and can't decide on a style yet. personally I might change the pedals to the older ones (spots) and get a plate to match. any ideas would be welcome. Well that's it for now so keep coming back for updates. I'll put up some links to the mods so far and add piccies. Thanks for reading1 point

I do like the Tesco Finest 97% pork cumberland sausages that I've just eaten for tea with a broccoli salad and mayonnaise, despite being harassed/solicited on both sides by Molly and Brandy. it did look as if they were working together, for the common good of sausages, Brandy bouncing and lunging about, creating a distraction on one side: whilst Molly tried to grab a sausage with an extended paw.from the other1 point

As above plus K&N E-9289 filter will give you the best of both worlds. It has a removable bung on the side to give you some induction noise and blow off hiss (like a mini dumpvalve) without the much debated heatsoak issues with open cone filters (I am still waiting to see actual proof on that one!). I have the K&N on my 182 and the difference was instantly noticeable, the car feels like its being strangled if you drop a standard filter back in. Its the filter out of the 57s-4000 kit. The only difference is youre not paying an extra hundred odd quid for a lid with a K&N logo. Then there is this option available now too! http://www.autospecialists.co.uk/Focus-ST250-RS-Style-Induction-Kit-Product-2640.html Lots more goodies here - http://www.autospecialists.co.uk/Focus-Mk3-ST250--Zetec-S-2012-PRESENT-Category-93.html1 point

WE are restricted to Ford, Vauxhall and Renault which does not give much choice for an AWD 4X4 I would not have spent £33k on an Edge if it was my money so I am stuck. One good point though I am averaging 42-45mpg which is all I could get from the Kuga on a good day1 point

Hey, wanted to make this thread to show other people who maybe are planning to do the same to their Ford Focus and also to take new ideas from any of you. We own a quite unique model of the Ford Focus. Its a 2.0 TDCI with 110hp automatic which I have never seen before. You can find more information about it here: http://www.automobile-catalog.com/car/2010/968675/ford_focus_2_0_tdci_110_ghia_dpf_powershift.html Anyway, when we got it, it look like a normal Zetec S but since then we have done the following: - RS Spoiler - Painted the Zetec S back diffuser black - Painted the bonnet tip - RS replica rims - Tuned the car back to it's original 140hp. What's next? I have been looking at some RS grills for the front, but I'm not sure how it would look like on this color of the car. We have just recently installed a Zetec S front splitter from triplercomposites.com which you can find images from at the bottom at the thread. Do you have any other ideas to do with the car? If some are wondering: the car has Ford's improved Sony stereo and has AUX. We are planning to add DAB+ adapter. Here are some images: Currently I only have this image of the new front splitter: (The rims you see is for the winter tires.)1 point

Just noticed both front door window seals on my mk2.5 r showing signs of mould and the rubber is starting to break up. I believe the correct name is the exterior cantrails? Could be wrong though. Anyway anyone got any idea how I can remove the mould without resorting to replacing the entire rubber seal but if I have too how much of a job is it to swap them out?1 point

I've just returned from taking the Mk1 Focus for it's MOT, which it passed (again) with no advisories (again). This brings my unblemished record of continually getting MOT passes to 40 Spread amongst 2 Foci, a Peugeot, 406, 2 BMW 7 series, several Volvos and an Astra. It goes to show if maintain and service your cars properly, the MOT is a annual formality, like Xmas and birthdays, I also like finding a massive box from Makita in the hall as I entered. I assume the courier put it there, as my elderly Mum struggles with a 4pt carton of milk, I can't see moving a 30Kg box from the doorstep into the hall It may be, but I'd reached the limit of how girthsome I was prepared to put up with. On October the 3rd I decided it was too much and needed curtailing. Due to the fact it takes 3-4 weeks to become keto-adapted, I shall probably continue to diet during Xmas, added to which you have to carefully re-introduce carbs gradually when you want to stop dieting. I think it's something like, add 3g per kilo of body weight, per day, over an extended period until you're back to a normal amount. The liver can't cope with it, if you return to normal suddenly.1 point

What I'm concidering buying is this grill: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Focus-Mk2-Facelift-Mk4-Honeycomb-ST-Style-Front-Bumper-Grill-Grille-08-11-/191880538406?hash=item2cacf8a926:g:zTgAAOSwNsdXQ3o8 I havent found a similar part for the upper grill yet. Not sure if it would look good on the car with this color.1 point

The answer is yes a head unit can coaster a disc. When one of the last Gen consoles came out, either PS3 or 360. They liked to much on a few discs. As you've stated don't worry about it, CDs are prehistoric. Now find a decent car with an 8 Track in it1 point

I do like the warm weather has returned, even if it's brought some persistent drizzle with it. Back to walking Brandy in just a shirt, compared to the double fleeces and beanie hats of a couple of days ago. In addition to the £16.37, gathered in loose change along the pavement by the takeaways, this morning. I found a wallet, whose owner had clearly put down and forgotten to pick up again. It was balanced on top of the street rubbish bin, but not in the fashion of it being abandoned but as if was placed there deliberately and absent mindedly forgotten I believe the right course of action in such circumstances is to try and find it's owner, through anything that might be in it and if that fails, to hand it over to the police. Contained within it was £475 in cash, three credit cards, one debit card, a gym membership, a driving licence, several receipts, two condoms and some business cards. The business cards were all all the same, suggesting it was the wallet owner's business. a graphic design studio. I phoned the first number on the business card and got a message "Thank you for your call! We are currently shut, our office hours are 9am through to 6pm, please leave a message after the tone; or try again later?" I left a message, and thought I should try the other two numbers on the card too, both were mobiles, and I was more likely to get the wallet owner. The first one, it just rang and rang, there was no message service to leave a message on. I then sent a text, perhaps it was switched to silent. The second number initially went to voicemail, as I got to the part ".... your wallet on a bin in Broadstone whilst walking my dog, just now", it was picked up. He was rather relieved, although he didn't realise he'd actually lost it, until I phoned.. He went and checked his coat pocket, as he'd thought it was still there. Apparently last night, he and and mate had taken a taxi from a pub in Poole to the Indian takeaway, they asked it to wait whilst they got their food. He was going to walk home and his mate would continue to Wimborne. His mate hadn't got any loose change for a tip. He keeps his loose change in his coat pocket along with his wallet. He removed the wallet and put it on the bin whilst he rummaged at the bottom of his pocket for change; his left hand was occupied with his takeaway bag. His mate then went off in the taxi and he walked home, leaving his wallet on the bin, not realising he hadn't put it back in his pocket. He was reunited with his wallet some 3 minutes later1 point

you need to establish if there is output from the audio unit. I would get an old car speaker with some wires on (do you have one laying around in your shed or so something) and push the bare wires down into the plug behind the audio unit (in the holes for the correct wires of course) and see if you can get some sound there. You don't want to go pulling trim off here there and everywhere to access all of the wiring if you have not proved beyond doubt that sound is being output from the audio unit on the rear speaker ouput1 point

I've always been a little disappointed with the lack lustre acceleration and overall performance on my 1.6 Ti-VCT 2011 Focus. It was ok, but simply felt that it was underperforming on power. There seemed to be a little 'lag' on acceleration, getting the revs up past 3k, and related speed seemed non linear to me. It annoyed the hell out of me TBH. Despite Ford saying they could not feel anything wrong with the car after they took it out for a test drive, they upgraded the PCM and for a while it seemed better, but in hind sight that may have been because the PCM was 're learning' To cut a long story short, I have been trawling through the web, desperately trying to find a solution to this. I found this on the Focus Fanatics website: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/duratec-ti-vct-performance-2012-current/297795-snorkel-delete.html?utm_source=FordOwnersClub&utm_medium=ForumLinks&utm_campaign=referrals I was sceptical, but thought what the heck, and fitted a K&M filter (E-9289) and carried out the snorkel delete. Wow, what a difference that made to the performance, the linear acceleration is now how it should be, along with a beautiful air induction noise. Not had a chance to verify yet, but many are saying there maybe an increase to the MPG with these mods. Just wanted to share that with you guys, great mods and worth every penny. Now, all have to do is learn to fall back in love with my car now that it performs as I would expect!1 point
