I do like spending 3½ hours in the delightful company of Pipper the springer spaniel. http://www.margaretgreenanimalrescue.org.uk/41870 We bonded instantly (as I did with Brandy 16 years ago), we then had a 2 hour walk around the dog walking paddocks, followed by an hour of play and cuddling. Like a cat, she likes to be cuddled: with her sitting on your lap and nuzzling, And we then had another hours walk, before I had to hand her back, for the visiting time period was closing, for the day. I told the rescue centre I would like to offer her a forever home and for them, to begin the rehoming process. I couldn't have found a better new companion I going to see her tomorrow for another session, and hopefully daily, until the rehoming process concludes and she finally comes to stay6 points

Due to time constraints, I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked. One of each bulb in... After messing with the ISO on the camera to capture the lenses properly... Halogen. Matches the DRL. LED. Doesn't match DRL, but I can live with that. Light difference shining into garage... Both in... Silvatec front indicators if anyone's interested... Rears... Also done the wing mirror indicators but never took pictures. And the new car itself. Now got 420 miles on it. (Pics before bulb changes) Paul.3 points

There are indeed. As it happens, tomorrow, I'm going to meet, walk and play with a springer spaniel, at a local rescue centre, who needs a new forever home. http://www.margaretgreenanimalrescue.org.uk/418703 points

Is that why they have so many cheap newish cars for sale nowadays? Do they secretly pass on problems to unsuspecting car buyers simply because they are too clueless to fix the problems themselves? lol2 points

Happy birthday Lenny It could have been worse, she might have asked for some of your money to buy you your present and card.2 points

I'm so happy for you Ghana, and it sounds like a very professional and well-run organisation you are rehoming her from.2 points

My mum got hers from there. She's a volunteer for them, collecting from the mgft food bin at the local supermarket. I've dropped off the stuff at Bere Regis quite a bit. My mum also got her latest cat from the Church Knowle branch. Great charity. They even let me behind the scenes for my school coursework when they were having the kennels built.2 points

She's a little cutie. I have a real soft spot for Springers having had one for 6 years now (officially called Jedi but I call him Jed). I love their drive, energy, cheekyness and eagerness to please. I hope you are a good fit for each other and go on to write a new life chapter together. Sent from my SM-G930F2 points

Hello there, I'm asking on behalf of my friend who has a fiesta mk6. Basically one of the rear brake lines on his has burst due to an incompetent mechanic. The car was fine when it went in for its mot and during its mot it supposedly burst which I find quite hard to believe. anyway I wanted to know if something like this would do the rear section of brake pipe as its not the main brake line but just the rear section. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302006183114 Any advice would be appreciated. I meant to says it's 03 mk6 1.4 tdci.fiesta1 point

I do like reaching the end (almost) of the December-January pay period without having to beg, steal or borrow! I'll like it even more when I finally get paid on Friday and can perhaps park another Ford outside...1 point

Apologies it's my other car that is the ST. Bit more detail it only makes the sound when the light is on it is coming from the light. If the engine is on or off and the lights are off no noise. As soon as I turn them on regardless of engine state it starts making the noise can a light make a noise ?1 point

that hose goes to the brake calliper then to the solid metal pipe that goes back to the master cylinder I take it that this hoses has burst if so that's the one you would need1 point

Okay thanks but the reason for the uncertainty is because the ones on it look metal where the ones on eBay look rubber but I'm guessing that doesn't matter too much.1 point

I'm not absolutely sure where the aerial is on the Mk5, guess I'll find out soon cos mine arrives on the 8th of next month!. Anyway, given that I don't recall seeing any external one, either in real life or in the brochure, realistically it's got to be in the rear screen like the Mk4.5. I currently have DAB in my Mk4.5(2014) and it works fine both with the rear screen on or off. I suspect there may be a fault on your rear screen heater, a small break in an element perhaps, which when on is generating RF interference which is affecting the DAB signal. The problem with DAB, as opposed to FM is that you don't notice a gradual degradation in the audio as the signal gets worse. It's normal(ish) until it just breaks up completely. If you're in a low signal strength area anyway (given your indicated location I guess that's quite possible), then any interference from the screen heater will just knock it out. In reality the only places I've had mine drop out were in the wilds of Devon and North Wales. I seem to recall that there may also be an aerial amplifier and if there is a bad earth connection somewhere then maybe the increased current from having the heater on is affecting the supply volts to the amplifier. The bottom line is that the screen heater should NOT be affecting the DAB reception and it's under warranty so the dealer should be fixing it!. If they are still reluctant then try another dealer, although again given your location I guess that might be difficult, or get onto Ford Customer service and they should be able to 'kick' the dealer. BTW have a google for 'ford dab rear screen heater', you're not the only one with a problem, although the first 2 are volvo ( but I think the screens are Ford manufacture )1 point

Watching youtube, as you do...one video leads to another, etc. Found this interesting video - someone has found a way to enable track mode but with sport suspension off and traction control on... thereby a "5th" mode Might be well known by now but might be useful to someone with an RS/looking to buy one1 point

F103 (10A, in the Passenger Fuse box) should supply power to the Autolamp relay, the number plate lamps and the "lights on alarm" input to the GEM (or BCM). F100 (10A, same place) supplies the rain sensor unit, which also controls the autolamps. (Assuming it is a Mk2.5 Focus)1 point

Driving while tired is just as bad (if not worse) than drink driving in my opinion. Thank goodness nobody was hurt! Cars can be repaired/replaced, but people are harder to "repair" and impossible to replace. That said, I'd be pretty peeved!!1 point

The maximum amount of torque a gearbox can handle is calculated by the manufacturer using a safety factor. This safety factor depends on technical design and material of the gearbox parts. Based on technical documentation the Ford/Getrag the 6MTT250 gearbox has a safety factor of 1.3. This basically means that the 6MTT250 gearbox should be able to handle 370 Nm before breaking down.1 point
