  1. I do like a nice drive in the old turbo diesel this afternoon and now sitting with a glass of wine and a chinese take-away in the oven. It is quite sad really that the best things in my life are alcohol, food and driving, but it is better than nothing!!

  6. My car doesn't have a low washer fluid warning light either, despite being much newer :S You should have just filled up with a bit of water for free, and then bought one later. No way I'd ever pay 10 quid for screenwash!!

  9. From what I understand, limp mode is when the engine restricts itself in some way when it detects a fault to prevent damage. It's like a safety mechanism i guess. Somebody else on here could probably give you a better technical definition than me........

  11. What radio? You will normally need to buy an adapter cable (and box) to link them to your radio. These are generally split by manufacturer - i.e. my Pioneer radio had a box to convert from Ford to pioneer.

  12. So today I finally picked up my Fiesta Zetec S Red Edition after waiting for what seemed like an eternity (but what was in fact only a week) and I couldn't be happier! I picked up the car used (albeit a 2016 model with just under 10K miles on so nearly new) and there are already a couple of little bits done to it which will save me a little bit of time and money. However I thought I would use this thread as a little record of the changes I am planning on making in the near and distant future. Completed changes: Black and Red "Ford" gel badges all around. Rear lights changed (Thanks to 666Damian666 for pointing this out). Front and Rear "S" badges Lockwood "S" engraved kick plates Gloss black interior air vent surrounds Team Heko Wind Deflectors (with red pinstripe) Change foot well lights to red "Fiesta" etched foot rest K&N Air Filter "S" wing badges from DMB I'm open to suggestions on any small changes I haven't mentioned.

  13. Hi everyone, So I've had my Fiesta for just over 6 months now. The problem I'm having is that when I'm reversing, the car makes a groaning or moaning noise, as if it's struggling. Seems to have got progressively worse over the past week. Also, the difference between in reverse and out is so minute I end up grinding half the time! Has anyone else experienced this with their Fiesta? Thanks!

  14. Got up this morning and car was frozen. Threw some hot water on the windscreen as I was in a rush, and bang, the windscreen ran a crack along the bottom of the screen!. Can't believe it. My dad used to always do this when I was a kid. Have I done something wrong, or is the glass not able for it anymore?

  16. Hello everyone, I just wanted to say hello and to OFFICIALLY join the Ford owners club as I have just purchased a '14 plate Fiesta zetec s Red edition, which is in fact the first Ford vehicle I've ever owned in my life. absolutely love the car and it's a big step up from my Peugeot 107! got a few plans for the car nothing performance wise as my insurance goes through the roof due to age but hopefully a few years down the line for sure! anyway that's all I have to say and uh, well that's it. thanks.

  17. Sounds like you activated the courtesy lights. After getting out the car push the stalk as if putting high beam on. You'll hear a beep. This means they are on and stay on for about 30 seconds before going off. It was implemented to help you find your way after stopping, such as pulling onto a driveway - simply activate them and lights stay on whilst you get your key to open the door for example. They turn off automatically after 30 seconds.

  18. Ford dealers keep duplicats of most of the keynuts.if not there are tools for removing them.

  19. if they were all the same there would be no point in them as a thief would carry one with them. on my mk6 fiesta there was a code with the paperwork i got with the car. they do look very prone to damage to me . when using it you need to make sure you keep pressing hard towards the nut so it can not slip out as the groove is not very deep

  20. I should have, but wasn't thinking and grabbed the screenwash expecting it to be cheaper, only finding out when he was ready to take payment. I think I was so shocked that I paid before even questioning it.

  22. Not going to choose a Tyre Brand. Just seems like a stupid thing to do when most manufacturers make good tyres and bad tyres (for my requirements and they would change depending on the tyre size/car combination).

  25. my alcohol consumption In 2015 was 1ltr of Captain Morgan's spiced rum in the year that was all alcohol consumed for the year. this doubled to 2ltrs of the same Captain Morgan's spiced rum in the year 2016 that was all alcohol consumed in the year. in 2017 now I've consumed 1ltr of Captain Morgan's spiced rum in the first four weeks of the year 😁 I won't be drinking any now for the next two - three months as I'll only be off work on Sundays.

  26. Frequency bands! .. the higher the frequency the shorter the antenna (usually use a 1/4 wave length), so GPS and DAB need a smaller antenna. DAB is region specific (Europe), so it makes sense to make it in a component that can be interchanged depending on the target market. AM/FM are low frequency by comparison and world wide, so the larger length (window element) makes more sense, and is aesthetically more pleasing than a typical 8"-10" long helical stub aerial like on the Kuga, etc.. Saying that, It does seem odd that they opted to use an area which is still in the wiper blade arc and an area that could have done with the heater elements!

  29. Ok, the module has arrived and SUCCESS! The Bluetooth and AUX are now working!! The sense of relief is off the scale! I've only tested it quicky but fingers crossed this rectifies the whole situation. If I end up with further problems I'll report back and let you know. To clarify my initial problem, in case anyone else experiences a similar issue in future - I was happily driving along one day when all of a sudden the audio from my iPod cut out (the iPod was connected to the AUX port via a 3.5mm jack). The audio returned when I switched the main unit off and back on again but would then cut out again after a few minutes. Meanwhile, the radio and CD worked fine. A few days later I noticed the Bluetooth icon on the display had disappeared. I re-paired my phone and all seemed fine but then the icon would disappear once again shortly afterwards. All this was followed by a battery drain that caused no end of problems and visits to the garage. I was getting a 2.0amp draw from somewhere when the car was switched off but nobody could figure out where it was coming from. I ended up getting the audio head unit, fascia and display replaced as I believed the problem with the audio was connected to that. And also perhaps the battery drain. Not so. New audio head unit fitted. Battery was still dead after a few days. I even had a new battery fitted but that died too after a while. Turned out all along, everything was connected to a faulty Bluetooth module that was housed underneath the glove box. Thanks to some posts on this fabulous forum I was able to disconnect it from the car easily enough and purchased a replacement from eBay for £90. Everything now appears to be working ok (including the AUX port) with no drains on the battery. Fingers crossed I don't experience any further issues as this has been a nightmare to solve! Thanks to everyone that assisted. PHEW!!! :)

  31. If you can find a decent deal on them then go for it. I have no scraping at full lock either. Didnt beed that steering bush kit. Considering a 25mm drop aswell but the estate lowering springs are expensive.

  32. The battery in ours is still going strong, it still functions the same as it did when it was new. It's on the wall in a cupboard, we have been away and left it for a week too. Only because we forgot to turn it off. We got about 15minutes at normal suction and 7 on boost. Doesn't take that long to charge so can usually get downstairs done, charge it while we get lunch and then do upstairs. I say 'we' I really mean the wife lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  33. There are several cheap premade relays on eBay that just require an ignition live, headlight and earth connection to fit your DRLs. This would be the easiest way to fit DRLs legally. Check item 281677042030 and 141970876177 for some options.

  34. Sadly it's not looking possible then mate, If you had a "main stream" brand of aftermarket headunit such as pioneer or sony you can fit a model specific steering stalk adaptor which the steering stalk loom plugs in to and provides the correct connection on the other end for the specific headunit.

  36. No I didn't buy the cover, this was just for the photo I put it on at an angle most times. If you put it on straight it does leave a slight indentation overnight. More additional non-visible security will be coming soon but I won't post details in case some thieving scroat is reading this. It's such a shame we have to spend all this extra just because someone wants what they can't have but better safe than sorry and if they get away with it then I'll have done as much as I reasonably can.

  37. In that case top it up when done, it will be fine. I wouldn't leave it on all the time though. Lithium batteries can go off like a firework if they fail.

  38. Its a 21.6v Lithium-ion Battery at i think 2800mAh as it bigger than the v6 model. Base says Li-ion.

  39. They are nickel based batteries , and to get the maximum lifespan out of them the charger should be switched off once battery is fully recharged , and let the battery cool down before recharging. surprised theyre not lithium ion considering how expensive dyson products are.

  48. Thanks though I seem to have fixed it (fingers crossed): According to most the only way to cure it is either clean connections or replace switches which involves removal of steering wheel and airbag etc etc. I didn't fancy all that hassle so I looked down the sides of the switches and could see 4 very small square holes. These holes are just big enough to get the end of a small straw down so I sprayed down each one with contact/switch cleaner. This I did a week ago and normal operation was resumed instantly and has worked fine ever since at all speeds... Worth a try for a 5-minute fix! Sent from my iPad using Ford OC
