2 Tonne is ample, the whole car weighs a lot less than that. (Assuming the 2 tonne rating is a Safe Working Load for the stands, not an actual breaking strain!) Ian (F0CUE) beat me to it with the standard pic., but have never liked the green dots at the front, they look like the front stay just as it goes into the rubber bush, and that puts a lot of strain on the bush. The front is heavy on these, esp. with Diesels. I have moved to using the subframe, next to the round hole where that curved tubular support comes down from above. It looks really strong there. My stands will just fit in there quite firmly. Photo below. It is the big hole, with the raised flange round it. For the back, I use the two strong vertical brackets that stick down, I don't think my stands fit well on the central part of the rear subframe as shown above.2 points

Nearly right! You can state your intention to cancel 14 days after receiving your goods, and then have a further 2 weeks to return them :)2 points

I do like Marlboro's "Pro-Seal"... Accidentally left a pack in the 405's glove compartment for 10 days and they still taste as fresh as the day they were first opened.2 points

Simple answer is in your last post, They've adjusted the tracking, badly! You should have mentioned they were checking the wheel alignment, in your first post.2 points

I have put the switch in the middle of the bedroom and on the wall low down, run 2 cables to the TiVo and i.p camera and 1 to my laptop. realy having onto TiVo don't solve a lot as you only get the remote option as you can't watch recorded item on other devices u.k law,you can only watch on the device you recorded on so Myshows on the recorded stuff won't work on iPad. Also ultra HD 4k on my t.v through netflix and it all works so fast as it shares the connection speed so no buffer at all, just trying to dee Amazon has a good deal at the moment on them. https://www.amazon.co.uk/NETGEAR-GS305-100UKS-Gigabit-Ethernet-Wallmount/dp/B00TV4A96Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486803627&sr=8-1&keywords=netgear+gs305 Im so MoneySupermarket 🍺 👍2 points

I had exactly that advisory in 2011, when I bought the car. The shock has not failed, has not been replaced & the advisory did not happen again, in the last 6 years. So have a look, do the usual push the car up & down test, then ignore it if no obvious problem is seen. I have also had parking brake below eff. advisory, cured by giving the cables a really good greasing. Take the cables off the rear calipers, so they can be pulled in & out by hand, and it is amazing how much grease you get slowly feed down there. Servicing disks & pads is a doddle on the Focus. I am usually pretty slow at mechanical jobs, but can do an axle in a couple of hours now, easy.2 points

Ah OK cool I'll have to give them a ring with the part number then unless they email back. That does sound like a beast lol and a lot of fun on round abouts [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk1 point

They probably only list warehouse stock on there website and other items would be direct order, the mk2.5 focus parts should be fully available for atleast ten years after manufacture, I had a 2000 registered Toyota Levin BZR from Japan and my local dealer could still supply me with brand new parts even though the vehicle was never sold in the country. God I miss that car so much was a black horse had superstrut suspension which meant the axle leans on corners but the chassis doesn't lean atall which resulted in you never knowing when to stop pushing it on the band's before you would loose the rear and 😁1 point

If you read different forums and information then you will get slightly different answers. The only real way would be to measure, but a couple of manufacturers dictate that before a date in 2006 is 18mm and after that date in 2006 is 21mm. I have ordered 21mm to do my own suspension with, and will be sending them back and swapping them if they're the wrong size.1 point

Have you changed the fuel filter recently? They can be very temperamental with inadequate, restricted flow and entrapped air in the fuel system feeding the HP injection pump. Maybe worthwhile replacing it if it hasn't already been done. They can be tricky to get going afterwards! There are plenty of tips on this forum how to bleed them properly.1 point

The part number for the set of focus RS tail lights complete with looms and bulbs fitted is: FINIS 1673850 You can go to any ford dealer and request that part number without any chassis details, I suggest logging on to fordpartsuk.com and contacting through the site email to request a price for FINIS 1673850 I've bought alot of little parts from them such as the rubber coin mat fits in the OBD port pocket.1 point

Like flogger said, Do a search on alloy wheel repairers, there will be someone around your area who will be able to repair it. I had a lexus IS200 when they 1st came out and ended up curbing a wheel a lot worse than yours, it was an dark grey metallic and lexus wanted £400 for a new one, the bodyshop across the road repaired & painted it for £50.1 point

Aye do. Ive only ever entered once in my fiesta but I go every year. After last year realising there wasn't one MK3 focus that wasn't an ST I thought, sack it, I should get mine in next time so I'm doing it this year. If you fancy it let me know cause I can apply and get whoever wants to go, all situated in a row. Represent the FOC. That's what we did last time. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk1 point

Aye no worries, I will do. It was cold ayye, had the woolly hat on for sure lol I'm impatient too like I was spose to wash the car too but it was starting to rain and had to finish getting the spacers on. On top of that, my wrench disintegrated too so had to go up to halfords and get another mid install. Nightmare lol I told myself id get the spacers on, wheels swapped, car washed, headlight fixed and sidelight replaced this weekend so I'm not doing too badly [emoji23] Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk1 point

Nice one thanks for that I'm sure they will be slightly cheaper now but if not that link you gave me will probably be the one I'd much prefer to get them new with all the wires and bulbs makes life much easier [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk1 point

I found it was a question of elimination although I have a MK1.The first thing I did was take out the air vents, silicon and pop back in.Then siliconed the mating surfaces on the rear light cluster(a pain if replacing a bulb)and screw plug and screw. If that doesn't work you will have to look deeper. Now driving a diesel Fusion Titanium. Victor Meldrew is now among you! Anyway nice to be here, still on the green side of a divot, and look forward to posting some drivel occaisionally.Easy going and enjoy a laugh.1 point

Agree 100% with above post. It's a job that can be easily done by a competent home mechanic but you need a decent set of spring compressors. Fronts took longer only cause you need to remove the entire shock assembly. Took me bout 3hr start to finish but i took my time and cleaned everything up while it as apart etc..1 point

I take mine to an independent mot centre, if it fails I get 2 weeks to take it to any garage.1 point

Bark, howl, squeal, squeak, moan, our dogs make all those sounds and more. Sometimes the smallest thing might set one of them off and all of a sudden you've got a scene like out of a wolf documentary . Our Doberman dislikes the horse in the neighbouring field, where as he doesn't give two hoots about her (just stands right up against the fence munching on the grass). Quietest dog we've had was our male Rottweiler who once knocked me flat on my backside as I walked through the pitch black through our front gate up to the door. The outside motion lighting had yet to detect me, and hadn't picked up Benson moving silently towards me, until he jumped up to greet me .1 point

The most important tool when changing springs is to use spring compression clamps otherwise the existing spring will expand at a lightening speed when you unbolt it potentially causing serious injury to you or the fenders of the vehicle there's a video here shows it well1 point

I did that to the wife's car, didn't tell her until the day before we had to sign and I only told her then cos it was her car lol. She had a two yr old 1.0l eco 125 in white, think it was a tit with low mileage. Dealer rang me and said he could do a good deal on another new fiesta but this time in red and a tit X, same engine. Worked out to be £11 less a month for a newer better spec car! So I jumped at the chance, the wife was proper ***** off though, saying I didn't need to swap it as nothing wrong with her current car. 1 week into the swap and she prefers the new one Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

Brandy used to bark not just at our postman, but any postmen we encountered on her walks. and when I dropped off the daily post at the sorting office, if any postmen happened to taking their break outside: Brandy would bark at them too Come to think of it, It might have been the orange hi-vis clothes that annoyed her : Brandy used to bark at railway maintenance workers as well.1 point

I was going to get the split 5 spokes before ones i actually bought. In the end they reminded me too much of the split 5 spoke 17" wheels it came with1 point

Hmm.. I was rather hoping you might say there's not much in it! I suppose we could always swap/sell them though as they must surely be an appealing upgrade for some and would presumably fetch at least the same as the 16's would cost, if not more. As you say, they do look good though and I notice that nearly all of the shots in the brochure seem to be of models with the 17's fitted so they must think they go well with the car well themselves!1 point

in my experience if you do this some places will give full refund on the unused parts but some will charge a fee or handling charge (I have seen it called a restocking fee but that terms does not really make sense)1 point

Depends on state of the shocks.. mileage etc.. I dropped my mk2.5 using the ebach shocks that r ford approves but I'd recently replaced the rear shocks n the fronts were in gd condition still. But the lowering springs will work with stock shocks though if they r past it u would be better replacing them as well1 point

Hi guys the info on the head unit was great, I've been to Halford today and picked up a jvc for £89! Bargain, got all the wires and a remote adapter for I can use my steering controls. I plan on fitting this tomorrow. The suspension, I'm still a little unsure what to do. Can I lower it using springs from ford parts UK, but keep my original shock? Or do I need different shocks?1 point

As you can still drive it just concentrate on getting yourself better first worry about the car once you get back on your feet, in the mean time buy a Haynes Manual for your car it will show how to take things apart when the day comes to fixing it yourself, best thing to do repair wise would wait until you have £500 or go a breakers and get a quote. Get well soon.1 point

there must be an easier way to identify what size ball joints are fitted (apart from physically measuring them) is there any relation to engine code/build date or disc size? (drums on rear etc) .. did ford just randomly picked parts they had in stock when producing the focus or was there a change over year when they uprated to 21mm?1 point

Wheels finally on after being aeay for 3 months and i was happy how it sat. Standard ride height and no scrubbing at lock. I had spent many a day on ebay looking for a cheap set of side skirts to get painted and fire on. To my surprise for the total of £165 you can have a brand new set of st skirts pre painted delivered within 3 days. Thats how it sits today im waiting on tge paintshop finishing my zetec s lower front valence. As for rear bumper i have decided to paint the standard lower part and then finiah the lower lip with the 2 rear sensors gloss black.1 point

All 3 of the dogs I've had don't bark unless there is a reason. All were rescue dogs, so not sure what training they had before. Our old springer spaniel would only bark if there was "someone strange" in the garden, of if there was a cat. He would also bark once at the back door if he had escaped and was wanting back in. My mums old jack Russel and now her dog de bordeaux only bark at the door if someone chaps the letter box. Even then, it is normally just one or two barks until we tell them to shh and then they stop. Some dogs simply are not very vocal :-)1 point

Police trained dogs by any chance? My auntie had dogs that only barked on command.1 point

This weekend I don't like stiles. The two extended weekend walks with Pipper have been hampered by the inclusion of stiles on the footpaths. Recognised trails have kissing gates with a low bar (around 1 metre high), adjacent to them for cyclists to push their bike under, wheelchair users and dogs too large to go through the gate. Whilst my knee support has given me back most of my leg use: until the tendon tear heals I haven't got enough power to lift my lower leg high enough whilst bending it, to get over stiles. The physio told me to refrain from any kind of jumping for a few months, so that ruled out leapfrog frogging, or vaulting the stile.. If there isn't barbed wire running along the horizontals, and the gap is wide enough, it was possible to go through the mid gap foot first; in the style of going down a slide, or crawling through the lower gap, but that means crawling through inevitable freshly deposited cow pats. If there is barbed wire on the horizontals, you have the added fun of avoiding that too The application and removal of socks is proving quite challenging too. Brandy loathed small scruffy men dressed in black that resembled Russell Brand until her dying day1 point
