My elderly parents have had it and no side effects at all. My partner( healthcare profession) had it last Wednesday. she had side effect of slight pain and lump where jab went in and a slight rash round her neck. I explained the rash could have been me trying to choke her in her sleep while she snored!! πππππ.4 points

You sure it's not the auxiliary electric coolant pump running when engine is switched off. It keeps the coolant flowing around the turbo for a few mins. This coolant then flows back into the expansion tank.3 points

Trouble with that is you don't necessarily have a temp with covid so not reliable enough.2 points

Should at least get a lollipop or a badge that says "I'm immunised" π batman badge would be a nice touch.2 points

At 94 and 99 respectively they're in the highest risk group and would be well up the queue whoever they were. I'm sure HM's decision to publicise the fact is to encourage the doubters. I guess it's up to all of us as individuals to make our own decision as to the relative risks of having/not having the vaccination. As I've said elsewhere, I'm not in favour of compulsion but I would be very surprised if those who have not had the vaccine don't face restrictions on certain forms of activity, travel and so on for quite some time. Also there is a need to consider if you refuse the vaccine and do get the virus then you're taking resources from others who are unable to get treatment for cancer, stroke, heart attack etc. Being over 65 and having "an underlying health condition" I have no reservations about having it asap.2 points

There is a test that can be done to rule out head gasket leaking into the water system, Itβs an attachment you put on the top of the header tank , it contains a fluid that changes colour if it detects exhaust fumes .2 points

Proof, if proof is needed, on how boring life was for us in 2020. Should have been to Glasgow and Edinburgh a couple of times for gigs as well as a week in Spain. Fingers crossed this year we'll start getting back to some sort of normality π€...... not convinced we'll be back to going to 'normal' gigs though.1 point

I can't see it becoming mandatory. Remember the vaccine is only 90% effective anyway. Even if everyone had it there would still be 10% walking around susceptible, that's a huge number in real terms. Hopefully those 10% are spread out but if they find there's a link to age or ethnicity then it could mean large groups together at risk. A few of my Nans friends have had it now but she's still reluctant.1 point

Some workplaces are considering not letting none-vaccinated staff back in the office, unless they have a medical reason not to.1 point

There are a number of kits out there some a cheap as Β£6 itβs called a combustion head gasket tester kit. Some of them are more expensive because they actually fit the different threaded header tanks , some of the cheapest ones have like a funnel neck you just push over the filler neck1 point

Iβm sure it is , itβs a massive difference though. If I reset the average mpg , do 20 miles + on the motorway itβs up at well over 40mpg. First few months having the car it was a steady 29mpg !1 point

Hi, I stupidly didn't get a picture of the bit that's still attached to the wires, and the car is currently at another property. I'm due to go there next weekend, so I can get another pic. I was hoping I could order something this week that I could fit next weekend, but no harm in delaying another week. Thanks again for your help.1 point

I just used silicone spray & it fixed the issue - I have since removed them & re-fitted them into my newer Fiesta with no issues at all.1 point

Next time you check, just look at the small pipe that enters the tank at the top and see if it's flowing through at that point. Obviously the engine needs to be warm for it to activate the pump.1 point

You should be able to find a earthing stud or bolt in the vicinity, itβs usually located nearby incase you need to jumpstart the vehicle. However as long as you can pick up a good Earth off something nearby and you can get a good connection on the live terminal, your battery will charge ok1 point

I do notice when there's condensation on the inside of my windscreen that there always more around the camera area, as you said with mpg it dropped when the weather deteriorated.1 point
-
The recent cold weather will have made a massive difference to the fuel consumption, especially if the car had to be defrosted before driving so it is difficult to make comparisons.1 point

Hopefully it's just the auxiliary belt. If the aux tensioner wasn't replaced then that's probably failed due to the tension of the new belt... I speak from experience after trying to save a few quid and then having to change mine a week later!1 point
-
In my opinion, that indicates a faulty head unit (unless someone else chips in with another reason for the volume control not working). Like I said, you can pick up a cheap replacement on Ebay for about Β£20 with code. Make sure all buttons are the same, some do not have the AUX button you have.1 point

It's probably journey length making the most difference. Current average on my 2.0 TDI is only 47mpg due to filling up just into Tier 4 and now lockdown...it's never been that low before in the last 2.5 years! Not a good comparison as I only did a few miles in each, but I wasn't impressed with the 1.5EB 150ps MPG...only averaged about 32mpg doing exactly the same journey as the 2.0 TSI DSG Leon that managed 37mpg... And doing the same journey in the 2.0 TDI Golf saw 48mpg which I'd expect compared to the Leon. Problem is, I'm still mentally comparing engine size rather than power... My 2.0 Mk6 Fiesta ST averaged 33mpg easily, but of course it was only 150bhp. So I suppose there is about the same amount of fuel being forced into the turbo'd 1.5 to make the same power... (Heavier car as well of course) So on that note, it will be interesting to see how much the 1.0 MHEV manages when I get it...seeing as it'll be 155bhp suggesting possibly the same or more fuel than the 1.5 150...but being MHEV should theoretically reduce he consumption slightly...1 point

If it turns on, it's not a fuse... Sounds like a faulty head unit. You can pick up a replacement one on Ebay for Β£20, make sure it comes with the code!1 point

Despite being integrated into the FCIM (radio control panel) the hazard light switch and lock/unlock switch have nothing to do with the audio system. These are completely different functions that are controlled by different CANbus modules.1 point

The official Ford figures have automatics at slightly better mpg than manuals. (If I remember correctly) Sport mode in the 182 can be expensive!1 point
-
Mine has a manual gearbox so that might account for a few mpg, but not 10. I use Normal mode in town and usually put it into Sport when I get out of town. I do tend to take routes with few stops even though they are usually longer.1 point

No petrol, the lower powered 150 bhp version. Not doing many long journeys now for obvious reasons but the roads here are much quieter for the same reasons so not having to stop as much as usual.1 point

Thatβs diesel figures! Mines a 1.5 182. Only do short journeys but 33mpg is my long term average. Motorway journeys are much better but 43 is even higher than the Ford estimates!1 point

Had the car 18months. Had that warning once. Last winter. Thatβs when I realised the difference between radar and lidar. I donβt have the adaptive cruise control so no radar. Not sure if it was ice or what but cleaned the windscreen ...sorted. ive driven through heavy fog a few times without a warning.1 point

Check the rear of the radio, some of them have their own fuse as well.1 point
-
I've had this flash up a couple of times in foggy weather, seems to be normal. Your mpg seems good to me I'm getting 44 average in my 2.0 diesel.1 point
-
The sensor is behind the rear view mirror unless you have adaptive cruise control, so misty weather can cause that problem, especially if your wipers are not on very much when driving in that type of weather. 43 mpg is what I'm getting with my 1.5 just now, and I wouldn't expect more at this time of year unless I was doing a lot of long journeys/1 point

There are many places that will retro-fit a reversing camera to your S-Max. I have had this done to mine (2018 Titanium) and it cost about Β£600 and uses the standard screen. All the parking sensors are still working audibly and visually. I have the Sync3 system with the big screen fitted to my vehicle, not sure if yours is Sync3 or not. Updating maps is easy, put your vehicle VIN into the Ford Sync update site and it will let you know if there are updates available and also how to install them. https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/resources-and-support/sync-bluetooth/update#/1 point

There is supposed to be a plastic trim around the window you can find it in there. The wiring part in the hatch it's just rubber covers but would leave that as the last resort.1 point

Equally no promise that it won't. With 68,053 cases and 1,325 deaths today, bring it on.1 point

I didn't quite like being woken up at 7:30am by the flat intercom that sounds like a combination of lorries reversing and a fire alarm. I did however like that my new microwave arrived far quicker than expected (even though I tried to go straight back to bed).1 point
