Replacing Leaking Brake Servo & Ford Part Number - Help Please!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have recently discovered that my 2008 (facelift) Ford Focus Zetec (Diesel) 109, 1560cc has a leaking brake servo. A constant hiss is coming from the brake pedal area but braking isn't affected (yet).

I am looking for a used part on eBay, but I'm confused.

1. Several listings say 2004-2008, but I thought that Mk2 was 2004-2011. I assume the 2008 refers to the facelift model (do people call this Mk3?) But would the servo be any different post-2008?

2. The model on the listings I've seen are all 2B195, but some are prefixed with 3M51, some 6M51 and suffixes are all different - BC, CF, CG, CF, HA and DC (i.e. 3M51-2B195-CF). This is all quite confusing - are some parts of the code crucial to get right, or do parts refer to a date of manufacture (or similar) and so it doesn't actually matter as the part itself is the same?

Hope someone can help!

Thanks.

tbh I would ask my local motor factor to check there computer with your reg number to find the right part then ask them if the earlier focus is any different, it dont cost anything to ask plus they'll give you a price so's you'll have an idea of how much you wanna be paying on flebay.

On another note, do you really want to be fitting a secondhand one? yours is a 2008 and leaking, buy a secondhand one off another 2008 model, how long is that going to last before it starts to leak? fit a new one mate.

I appreciate what you're saying, but I don't have the money for a new one (nearly £600 with fitting).

I'm confused about the Ford part numbers. Mine is 6M51-2B195-CD and I can find quite a few but the final two letters are different in all of them. Would a 6M51-2B195-DC be compatible, for example? They seem identical, but I guess appearance doesn't mean a lot.

Thanks.

pm me your car reg number and I'll see if I can find out for you tomorrow,so check back on here tomorrow for your answer. (to send pm click on my name, then send message)

pm replied too
