evening everbody

can any help with advice on an over revving engine when idleing on a ford maverick 2l engine 2003 new air filter been fitted this helped some but still over revs or an also jumps up an down when 1st turned over also useing a lot of fuel only 100 miles on 30 quid any help much appreicated thanks
