C-Max power steering pump programming

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a 2008 CMax 1.8 tdci hatchback. I want to replace the electric power hydraulic steering pump because I believe it to be faulty. Pumps are 2 a penny on ebay and all have the same part no as mine  4m513k514ca. This is the part number for the pump and the same one is used on a Focus mk II. I have been told that the pumps need to be programmed and that is something done by Ford main dealers. I have confirmed that much already but the cost for programming is £200 approx. Is the programme in the pump off a focus the same as the programme from a c-max? Ie can I simply swap them straight over.  I believe that in addition to the programming  I also need to have the engine monitoring system reset to allow the pump to communicate with the canbus.  Can anyone confirm this please?

Thank you.  Mark
