Sorry to hear about this, but your insurance should be sorting all of that?

As @alexp999 has rightly mentioned, your Insurer will probably have an approved repairer for such damage. Give them a call and find out the next course of action, failing this or if you can't get anywhere; by all means let us know, I come from an Insurance/Financial Services background you see and have direct experience in Claims handling for numerous individuals over the years. Really sorry for the situation though, savage.

Definitely should be going through your insurer for this work.

Sorry to hear about this though, Many years ago i had my 106 quiksilver broken into and practically stripped of anything of value like head unit, speakers, personal property including a random hoodie i left in there....car never felt the same to me for some time after that, i ended up with it in the body shop for repairs to the door and then a very deep clean/Valet (even had to have the locking wheel nuts drilled out as they took the wheel nut i had stupidly left in the glovebox by mistake (you live & learn).

Hope you get it sorted soon!

No problem guys, I’m only 21 and my excess is £750 I’m confident that it won’t cost me that much to sort the car out but if it does it won’t be far off, my insurance would go through th me roof otherwise I would consider it.

Your insurance needs to know it was stolen anyway, so a hit to your premium will have already taken place.

If you don't claim it won't be as bad, but they will still note it.

See if you can borrow or rent a wet vac for the interior.  Remove the seats and do it yourself, cheap and easy.

Lock will need to be made to your key.  Can either buy from ford or online and make it up yourself.

Rain sensor and lock cover from a scrap yard.

Bodywork is the awkward one, I think I'd probably just touch up the missing paint and leave the small dent.

Should have change from £100 tbh...

The car keys will need wiping and re-programming as you don't know if they've programmed a new key they can come back with.

Where do you leave the key now if not in the glovebox?

Tbh if they've broken in, they'll find the key...  I would suggest under the spare wheel though, obviously if they can be bothered to lift the spare they'll find it but it'll take an extra few minutes compared with the glovebox.  Just have to remember to get it out before leaving the car at a garage or they'll be hunting for it for ages lol.

I’m just hoping he wasn’t going to say ‘with the service book in the garage’

Please make sure you've noted your insurance company though as if somehow it's logged on a sepperate database other than MID; you wouldn't want to be in the wrong. Especially when you've already had enough to deal with, Aiden.

Hidden in the car still, just somewhere slightly less obvious.

Agreed! If they want my wheels badly enough then they will take them, i just wanted to make it a little more difficult for them and slow them down without causing me a headache if i get a flat or take it to the garage but forget my wheel nut.
