Does anyone have good knowledge of starter motors?

Are they different with a start / stop system?

Almost certain that mine is goosed and looking for a replacement.

    have you looked on eurocarparts/carparts4less to get a rough idea of how much a replacement will be. they will cost a bit more with start stop system, than a car without start/stop

    mine has a start stop system which hasn’t worked for about 18 months can i replace the starter motor with an ordinary one i.e not for start stop system ?

    This thread has been dead for more than 3 1/2 years, a bit like your Start/Stop.

    No you can't use a basic starter motor.
