Hi Everyone,Im new to the forum so go easy on me.

My Ford Mondeo Edge 2 litre Diesel has been running fine until today all of a sudden the Battery light came on and also the ABS light came on and a smell of burning,Managed to get it home but when i came to start it again the car is completely dead,Any ideas ?? i will get the battery tested tomorrow.

    Sounds like a wire may have got burnt, check all the wiring you can see.

    Many thanks for your reply,Recharged the battery and started the car but no charge coming from the alternator while i was checking with a voltage meter,So im guessing the alternator is gone as the smell of burning is coming from that area and also sounds very noisy.

    Sounds like it is the alternator
