you need to get the fuel to it first.  I use that wee bike valve on the top to bleed it, got a tyre extender then removed the valve from the extender, connected a vacuum pump to it to suck the fuel through it disconnect it and the valve clamps down. works first time. the problem you might have is getting an airlock going to the pump, the pump wont work without fuel so you might need to try something else to get fuel down to it.

In the past on my 1.6tdci I used a wee syringe and filled up the line going to the pump with fuel first, not sure if it works on the 2.0 as ive never had to try it. 

Ive heard of folk bleeding the system via the injector leak off system, not sure I like the sound of that but it might work unless anyone knows for sure its a bad idea / wont work
