Focus Titanium X Parking sensors in neutral

Hi, I have a Focus 2012 Titanium X.  I have a query regarding the parking sensors.  Hopefully someone will have a similar model or knowledge that can help me out.  

When the car is neutral and the parking sensor button is pressed, the display on the dash indicates objects within close proximity both at the front and the rear.  I've noticed that I only get an audible tone when objects are near to the front of the vehicle and no tone when objects are near the rear.  Is this correct ?

    i would i imagine so as your not in reverse ready to back in to an object .
