Mirror Heater Output = Battery Drain

Featured Replies

Hi all

Experiencing a battery drain and I think it may be that my driver door mirror heater is remaining on?

Had it connected to an IDS today and one of the "currently present" fault codes was:

B12D8, Circuit Short To Battery or Open

Anybody had this before, or know what my options are? Current thinking is just disconnect, but is this as easy as it sounds?

That sound more like a general battery "earth" fault to me.  Besides disconnecting/reconnecting the battery I'd also be checking all the earthing straps (both ends) to ensure they are ALL making clean contact where they should be.

Possibly. I did fit the battery myself.

I checked battery was connected securely.

The battery was drained again this morning so I have removed FUSE 47 (Heated Exterior Mirrors) to see if that will cure the issue.

Did you get to the bottom of it as i have same issue
