Cleaning The Chrome

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to get marks off the chrome?

One day at tesco, I was lazy, so got them to clean the car, but they managed to leave a bit of bubbles on the lower offside corner of the bottom grill, which has left marking on there, and is my only problem really, apart from that, it's fine!

Blimey Tesco’s clean cars now too, which isle does it come under? :)

A photograph of the item involved would be good but...

I’m assuming here you mean the plastic chrome effect bits rather than any genuine metal parts? If so never use chrome cleaners such as Autobrite etc as these will remove the chrome plating.

When you say bubbles are we talking about foreign matter sticking to the chrome or the chrome it self? If you mean the chrome is bubbling up I think I would go back to Ford as I can’t really see Tesco using anything that would cause any damage to cars, if it had that effect on your car it would on others which could result in a heavy claim for damages.

Could it be a faulty part that wasn’t cleaned off before Ford did the chrome plating?

I've got a feeling that Mark just means big watermarks on the chrome effect bits of trim. Mainly as I had the exact same problem yesterday, just got them off with a damp microfibre cloth. If this isn't the case take lots of photos and go after Tesco or Ford!
