Focus 1.0 turbo replacement

Featured Replies

Hi got a focus eco boost 1.0 and the turbo has packed in I have already got a replacement turbo and have been quoted £100 to fit by a friend of a friend but he’s not available as going on holiday for 2 weeks. How hard is it to replace the turbo? I’m no mechanic but  I service both my cars myself but have never replaced a turbo? Is it as simple as removing the old one and putting the new one straight back on or is there more to it?

any help or advice will be much appreciated

thanks

If the turbo has failed you nee to clean out all the pipe work and the intercooler to remove any oil that is in them, as to actual procedure im sorry but i dont know, the advice is just generic for turbo replacement. Hope it helps
