power steering issue

Hi all 

firstly ive looked thru the forum and couldn't find an answer 

ive replaced my Electric hydraulic power steering pump  on my focus S 1.8 petrol 

and for some reason the steering is still solid . ive read that apparently the pump needs to be "coded" to the car 

so on popping down to a garage or ford if need be would this resolve the issue . or could there be something else wrong

    Yeah, it needs to be coded to the car.  I think you need to copy the codes from the old pump so take that one to the garage as well.
