Foot brake travel

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a 10 plate, Fiesta Zetec TDCi.  Just had it MOTd and it passed but my mechanic has said that the car has some foot brake travel -  not always just sometimes.  The car obviously passed the brake requirements for the MOT.

My mechanic is stumped slightly and is going to make some enquiries.  His thoughts are possibly master cylinder or perhaps ABS valve.

Just wondered if anyone has come across this issue.

abs module normally. ive done a few. first the brakes should be checked fully for any issues, then rear brakes adjusted. recheck travel.

if the same, a master bleed is then required using diag equipnent, bsically the abs pump is activated while bleeding the system .

if still a problem then the abs module needs replacing but not the actual pump assy
