ive never changed plugs on your engine before but it should be straight forward. if the plugs have been in for a long time or are badly corroded then you may have issues.

best to get yourself a spark plug socket or tube (sorry i dont know what size for your car) and a ratchet handle. the plugs will feel tight but just dont put huge amounts of force on the ratchet or you might just snap a plug. if they do feel very tight, you could try soaking the base of them with wd40 and let it soak in for a good hour or even overnight if you can

when fitting the new plugs, smear a small amount of anti seize grease on the threads, this will help them come out very easy next time. (copper or ceramic grease will do nicely for this job) for all you know this may have been done when they were last changed?

thinking about it, the spark plugs will probably be the 'middle size' so this should be the correct size of socket/tube you need here...(10/16mm)

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_163003_langId_-1_categoryId_165469

other sizes are 8/14mm and 14/21mm

personally i like these tubes because they have a strong magnet in the end thats very helpful and they also fit in engines with narrow plug chambers

do you have replacement plugs yet or have you still to buy them? if you have them i would quickly measure the diameter of the hex but im sure the 10/16mm will be the correct size

if the old plugs are worn or incorrectly set then yes you should notice a difference.

if the plugs are easy to get at, i would say a couple of minutes on each really.

when your fitting the new plugs, fit them in the socket/tube and screw them in by hand as far as you can. if they only go like one turn and feel tight, do not force them as you could cross thread the cylinder head which spells disaster. dont super tighten the plugs either, screw them in as far as you can and just nip them up to seal them.

dont let that put you off though, you will be able to feel if its going in ok.

double check your plugs gaps are all about the same before you fit the plugs also, its not unknown for plugs to be knocked or dropped and the gap to be upset.

most plugs these days are all pre gapped, hence the reason you need to give your engine details, thats why there is about 10million different types  if the gaps all look the same then you will be fine.
