03 fiesta bad idling/cutting out

Featured Replies

Hello all,I have a fiesta 2003 with a 1299cc duratec engine that is currently idleing erratically, and cuts out when at junctions etc.looking at posts from before people say its the idle speed control valve and this is fixed to the throttle body housing, but on my fiesta there does not seem to be one so is there another way to clean the housing or would it require replacing.all help very much appreciated.thank you.

Greetings! I can pretty much say that I have the same symptoms with my car ( it's a 2002 model, 1.4 petrol ) and a solution that I've found for poor idling is to spray clean the throttle body. I can't seem to understand if you already did that, but it's quite easy! Mine does it very often, it doesn't cut out, but it hesitates the RPMs like it's choking. I've used a regular degreaser for kitchen issues and a carburetor cleaner. You can try it.
