ECU location

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Newbie here to the forums. Was wondering if someone can help me out. I have a 2010 mkII Focus 1.6 auto. I’ve had a transmission problem and took it into my local garage who then told me that the solenoids in the transmission needed replacing and that the ECU was faulty and needed replacing. After a quoting £3.5k to fix, I couldn’t afford this and am looking to sort the problem myself. I was a bit cautious that the ECU could be causing this fault so I went along the solenoid route after getting the codes from OBDII reader. I have replaced the solenoids in the gearbox along with generally servicing it (filter/oil change). This hasn’t fixed the problem. I’m looking to get this fixed as cheap as possible as money is a bit tight at the moment for me. Can anyone tell me where the ECU is located on my model focus so I can obtain part number and order a reconditioned/2nd hand ECU?

thanks In advance!
