2003 Headlights Not Working

Hi guys, new here buy hope you can help me. I bought a 2003 fiesta about 2 months ago and it has been fine although today only the side lights work and the dipped headlights will not come on. Could it be anything to do with the fact that I changed the cd player (about 2 weeks ago and it has been fine until today) or I changed the rear brake light bulb about 5 days ago but it has been fine until today. Could it just be bad earth or something like that? Any help will be appreciated.
