Hello, I have bought a grand c max 14 plate from Arnold Clark, the 2nd day I noticed the temperature gauge going up and down when acceleration and deacceleration,  also when car is stationery and ticking over the temperature gauge drops right to the bottom, I have told Arnold Clark the problem and they said this is normal?  I told them it's not so I got a inspection done on my car by another garage, they told me the thermostat needs changed and the pipes around the thermostat one is hot and the other is cold they should be the same he also said that my coolant tank is cold and that should be hot. So back I went to Arnold Clark they changed my thermostat and still have same problem.  My point - what is the problem as my car has 2 years warranty and Arnold Clark are refusing to fix my car? Thanks for any replies
