Heater blender door actuator

Hi. I have a UK spec  fiesta 2009 tdci titanium. 

There's no air from vents. I saw guide on replacing  the  heater blender motor actuator.  

I've took of the steeringwheel cowling.  But under wheel to left there's a silver box. 

I don'the know what this is and if it's easy to remove .

 

There's clicking noise and humming from behind dash .that leads me to believe it's the actuator.
