Ford fiesta zetec-s Mk6 electrical issue.

Hi All, I've got a problem with my car and I can't figure out what's wrong with it.

The battery light started lighting up on the dashboard randomly, I've managed to figure out this is nothing to do with the alternator following some tests. Today I've been driving and not only is the battery light intermittently operating, the ABS, Handbrake and airbag lights have been turning on and off randomly. The speedometer was also cutting out and coming back on as I was driving. The AC fans blow powerful and then weak as I drive and the same thing happens with the headlights. The final thing is; a relay clicking which is an area around my steering wheel (I've not had a chance to fully investigate which relay it is). Does anyone have any idea what could be causing these faults? The battery and alternator and drive belt are fully functioning and I'm completely confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

It'll be one of the battery cables or an earth point at fault if you're sure the battery and alternator are good.

Battery cables often fray near the ends so it could just be hanging on by a few threads now.

As tomsfocus said it could be the leads but it also sounds like a bad battery because batteries nearing the end of there life can sometimes deliver varying amounts of current because of the non conductive crystals that can form into he plates inside the lead acid battery.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that they have not been driving around for the last 5 years still with the same problem.
