Ford Focus MK3 1.6Tdci not starting.

Featured Replies

I've got a ford focus mk3 1.6tdci start stop. The car won't start, it makes one click when i try amd start the car. I've had a new battery and starter motor just put on. I'm unsure of what the problem could be? Any ideas, the mechanic I deal with says it might be the clutch switch. Anyone else had this problem. Cheers

I would've thought it come up on the dash saying "press clutch to start" if it was a bad switch.

Have you cleaned the terminal connectors with a bit of emery on the battery leads? Also might be worth checking the voltage as despite being a new battery it could've sat on a shelf for a while and no longer be fully charged. Bit of a long shot, but worth doing the easy stuff before throwing money at it.
