1.0l ecoboost ecu fault. P0237

Featured Replies

Hey can anyone give some advice on where I need to start looking to fix this fault please.

It's a P0237 Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit low.

Thanks.

How good are you with a multimeter?

Haven't got one but could probably get my hands on one.

Ok, is there a lack of power , engine light on ?

Yep the spanner light is on. Came on about a week ago and a friend cleared the codes had the same symptoms as now. Feels like a misfire, it judders on acceleration and lack of power.

Ok, you need to check the basics, that dtc is triggered when the boost pressure sensor shows low boost when it's expecting high pressure.  So, check all the rubber boost pipes from turbo to intercooler to intake for splits in hose. Not sure if that dtc is triggered when the turbo recirculation diaphragm splits , but inspecting that would be worth doing . 3 torx  bolts hold that in place on the turbo.

Check the connector pins for corrosion at the boost sensor and tmap sensor.

Just an update. Mechanic replaced the boost sensor and the map sensor. Ran for 2 days fine so I collected the car. 5 minutes after getting home same fault reappeared . Returned to garage but they are scratching their heads.

Have you or they inspected the recirc diaphragm as per my previous post?

Yeah, that’s been checked and all in order.

Hi did you ever get to the bottom of this as having the exact same troubles with a car in my family.

cheers

Had this same issue on my 2014 Fiesta. The issue was diagnosed as a dodgy wire into the MAP sensor connector. The fix was, unfortunately, to replace the whole powertrain wiring loom - all in all about a £1000 fix from a Ford Dealer.
