Problem with Wing Mirror Adjustment

Featured Replies

Have a 2003 1.25 Fiesta LX. The left hand wing mirror wont adjust with the internal adjustment thingy ( sorry dont know what its called) the drivers one is fine. Could this be a fuse that needs replacing or something more costly? Only bought the car recently and finding odd niggly problems

The electric mirrors are both covered by one fuse so it won't be that I'm afraid.  Hopefully it's just a burnt out adjustment motor, and replacing the complete mirror from a scrap yard will be cheap and easy.  If it's not that, it'll be a broken wire somewhere which may be a bit more difficult to find.

Could also be a faulty switch.

You could really do with testing both the switch and the motor in the mirror before you start throwing parts at it as that can get costly very quickly.

thank you, I'm not very mechanically minded I'm afraid, my local garage have offered to check the car over for me anyway so I'll ask them to have a look at it. Just thought a fuse change could have been an easy fix, thanks again.

thank you, assume I have to remove the mirror to find this out, is this easily done or would a garage need to do this
