Sygic navigation

Featured Replies

Hi All

Anyone tried out Sygic navigation app through their sync3 screen? Having had a quick look at it on my phone it looks as if it could be useful as it is based on TomTom maps. Lifetime maps update if you upgrade within seven days at a reasonable price. Expect updates to be more regular than Ford and took about five minutes to download europe maps to my phone.

Just wondering if anyone out there have come across problems with it?

It's over cluttered even with minimum overlay data.

I found this. I bought it for my phone and when purchased it was ok (2013?). The one thing it has going for it is it seems fairly advanced (although having not used any other sat nav app on Android, unsure if this is common across the board), and feature rich. I considered using their "Truck" version on my Windows tablet I was going to use as a HU.

Fast forward to 2019 and they've added so much stuff to it, my android head unit won't run it smoothly, and even my phone. It is on my phone and HU just as a backup, I use Google Maps mainly now. For the Sync screen, you can download offline maps to google maps on your phone which will mean you can use it even without data / poor connection. You have to select an area, but you can select multiples and it'll just update them every so often.
