Boot opening itself

Hi,

I think I've read some answers to this somewhere, but does anyone have any solutions to the issue of the boot just opening itself? (Solutions for someone who knows nothing about cars...) 

I just had to get a new battery, and the mechanic said that this might solve the issue... But also might have been the cause for my battery dying.

The boot opened itself while he was telling me this 😉

    Check the wiring between the roof and boothatch, this is a common symptom of damaged wires shorting over.
    Usually you find the boot unlocks when the brake lights come on.
